Digital Life

It’s a constant battle trying to keep one’s digital life in sync between home/work & being mobile. You end up with constant duplications, missed reminders, etc, etc. It’s particulary bothersome to me, with a mind like a sieve (so Owie keeps telling me!), so totally rely on the calendar in my phone for organising my life, 100%.

Now I came across blackrimglasses.com site the other week, and have bene following his interesting article – My So Called Digital Life. I picked up on a number of his points that hit home, and decided to take action.

After much consideration and research, I jumped at the i-mate K-Jam Pocket PC phone with the latest Windows Mobile 5 on it.

i-mate K-Jam

I’ve had it for just over a week now, and am absolutely loving it. For those into the details, I’ve set up a MS Exchange hosted account with 4smartphone and have all my email accounts feeding into it, and pushed out to my phone. Well not quite, not yet at least. If you know your mobile phone networks SMS/Device address, then you can feed that into your account and have email ‘pushed’ out to your phone as soon as it arrives. Nice. Also my contacts & calendar and sync’d up to the server, and keep my work computer, home & my mobile phone all in sync – pretty much within a couple minutes of each other. Sorted.

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention it has bluetooth AND Wifi ( yah, :) now i just hook into the wireless network @ home or work and don’t have to pay data charges. Sorted!)
